Fast Track Services

These services are available only to residents of Jefferson County on a walk-in basis during our regular office hours.

Strep Throat Screening

If you think you may have a strep throat, we can perform a strep screen here in the office. No extra charges for appointment with physician will be required unless you ask for one. If you are a new patient, we can offer this service only when the physician is available in the office. Strep Throat Screening includes:

• pre-visit screening questionnaire to be sure that you don't have some condition that would prevent safe completion of the fast-track procedure
• completion of health history form if you have not already completed one here
• five-minute strep screening test that is 80% accurate for diagnosis of streptococcal infection
• brief exam of throat by physician if required to cross-check accuracy of strep screening test
• self-care information for colds and flu
• follow-up phone call

When the strep screen is negative and your history and exam indicate that it may be incorrect, we will do a throat culture at an extra cost.

For Women Only!

In a similar way, we are offering walk-in in-office treatment of bladder infections. This is available for established patients any time we are open. If you are a new patient, we can offer this service only when the physician is available in the office. This service includes:

• pre-visit screening questionnaire to be sure that you don't have some condition that would prevent safe completion of the fast-track procedure
• completion of health history form if you have not already completed one here
• urinalysis
• follow-up phone call

We will prescribe antibiotic or non-antibiotic treatment depending on your individual needs. People who have had repeated or complicated urinary problems will require a urine culture at an extra cost.
