Email Service
- Address your email to (last name.first name.year of birth)@RienstraClinic.com
For example, John Doe born in 1967 would send his email to Doe.John.1967@ RienstraClinic.com
- In the first sentence, specify a day and time beyond which you do not wish an answer. For example, “I need a prescription for cough medicine for a cold, but if you cannot respond by 4 pm Tuesday Dec 24, please cancel this request.” Then follow this with the details required for such a request (for this specific question, you would add your symptoms, lack of a history of drug or alcohol abuse, etc)
- Second, if you believe your needs are unusually easy or difficult, you may propose a different fee, specifying “I will pay up to $__ for an answer to this problem.” If able, we will then answer within the cost limits you set, otherwise we’ll return your email.
- They wonder if I can help them with a certain problem, if they come in for a visit. (No fee for this kind of email.)
- You can email photographs of skin conditions. Be aware, however, I am used to looking at most of these through a magnifying lens in bright light, so except for you experts with a macro setting be prepared for me to tell you I’ll need to see the rash in person. (In which case, no fee for the email.)
- Questions re supplements. Brief question, brief answer, we may include a handout.
- Ask a question you forgot during your last visit.
- Explain something you think that I may have misunderstood.
- For health reasons, you fear going out when it's snowy or icy, and believe a simple email can solve your problem.
- You have a contagious condition, like the flu or a cold, and need advice and/or a prescription for cough medicine.
- You have found some information on the internet that you want me to give a quick look at and briefly comment on.
- You need some sort of note, as in an application for something, or permission to be excused from jury duty. Without having to relay the request through our office staff, you can be clear about the wording needed, in case that’s essential. For more than a straightforward note, we’ll require more time and will tell you before proceeding, in that case.
- You need a refill. These emails and refills incur no charge if
- We prescribed this at an office visit within the last 12 months and
- the medication is intended for long term use and
- the medication is not potentially habituating (not federally controlled) and
- you are up-to-date on any lab or physical examination required to monitor this medication.
You may print this, complete it at home, and bring to the clinic, or come to office and complete a form here.
