This 8 week educational support group will help you make lasting changes to improve your health. It will help you understand the choices you currently make and you will learn simple and effective techniques to develop healthy habits and create the life you most want.

This monthly series will bring you up to date on
Dr Rienstra will lead this series of small question-and-answer group visits to help you gain more control over your personal health issues and to provide tools for making healthy lifestyle changes. We believe that the best medical care results from collaboration between doctor and patient. There was a time when the doctor decided on the medication and told you exactly when and how to take it. Questions were not encouraged, and people had few other options. Today you have access to many sources of health information, some of them reliable but most of them tricky to interpret. We will encourage you to bring in health news from the media or the Internet so we can use your material for case-by-case examples of how to evaluate such information. And we’ll bring to light both the aids and the barriers to personal change. Class members may share what has worked (or not) for them. In addition to helping you make sense of the health-care system, our goal is to enhance your ability to care for yourself. The class will not exceed fourteen people and will meet Wednesday evenings at 7 pm. The course fee is $70 per class, $240 for a series of four classes, with a fifteen percent discount for those who register a week in advance. Depending on the number attending, the class will last between an hour and two hours. You do not have to be a patient of this clinic to attend.
